FEED THE WORLD
HEAL THE WORLD

Eco-friendly, Pastoral Pig, Rotational Cropping, and Solar Energy Farming

We Take a Holistic View on Farming

To us, true sustainability is based largely on the “triple bottom line”: People, Planet and Profit.

We place societal impact and environmental footprint on an equal footing with financial viability.

We believe there is symbiotic relationship between the crops, the land, and animals on the farm. Output from one aspect – for example manure from livestock – is aligned with the input required by another aspect, such as fertilizer required for crops.

This is why we practice rotational farming: planting different crops such as hay, alfalfa, and sweet potatoes sequentially on the same plot of land, later used to feed our free-ranging pigs.

By alternating the use of the pastures we improve soil health, optimize nutrients in the soil, and combat pest and weed pressure.

Pigs make the land healthier by rooting the soil and grazing the grasses, scrub brush, weeds, etc to facilitate natural pasture grasses.

Purpose:
To Be a Blessing to Others

Feed The World - Heal The World -
With Happy Pigs

All our breeding sows and piglets are free-range and live outside in the fresh air instead of confinement stalls or farrowing crates or in comfortable, light and airy barns lined with fresh straw.

This means they have more room to move around, the way Nature intended.

We want to give them a good quality of life with lots of space to roam. We believe that free-range pigs, in small herds are happier, healthier and more content.

Why Pastoral Farming?

  • Bred sows and gilts on legume pastures require much less supplemental protein and only about one-half as much grain as those in dry lots.

  • An acre of good pasture can support 8 to 10 sows, and 10-20 per acre for pigs over 100 pounds.

  • Lower feed costs, provides exercise and nutrients, lower capital investment per production unit.

  • Good use of land that is not suitable for cropping, better isolation and disease control, and waste management problems.

We believe these practices create a better product for both food and therapeutic use.

Don’t take our word for it — see the difference for yourself!
